つばめが店内の入り口上にせっせと巣をつくっています。先日ご来店された１歳に満たない赤ちゃんを抱っこしたおじいちゃまが、その赤ちゃんに「つばめだよ」と巣づくりしているつばめを見せてあげていました。その光景に想わずほっこりと笑顔にさせられました。

つばめたちははじめから引っ越すことを考えて巣をつくっているのでしょうか?

その瞬間の心地よさを追求しているつばめの姿に人間のわたしは学ぶことが多いです。

ちょっと真面目になりすぎたのでここで雑学🤭

この小さな訪問者たちは、冬を南の国で過ごし、暖かくなると再び日本に戻ってきます。そんなつばめが、繁忙な商店の入り口上に巣を構える理由には、いくつかの説があります。一つは、人の出入りが多い場所は天敵であるカラスや猫が近づきにくいから。また、店舗の灯りが夜間でも残っているため、巣の作りやすい環境が整っているからとも言われます。

Swallows are busily building a nest above the entrance outside the store. The other day, a grandfather holding a baby less than a year old who visited the store showed the baby the swallows building the nest, told her, "Those are swallows." That scene made me naturally smile and feel warm inside.

Are swallows building their nests from the beginning with moving in mind?

As a human, I have much to learn from the way swallows pursue comfort in the present moment.

Since I got a little too serious, here’s a fun fact🤭

These small visitors spend the winter in southern countries and return to Japan again when it gets warmer. There are a few theories as to why swallows build their nests above the entrance of a busy store. One is that places with a lot of people coming and going make it difficult for natural enemies like crows or cats to approach. Also, it is said that because the store lights remain on at night, it provides a favorable environment for nest-building.
